But have you tried sitting in theater seats, trying to keep a leg straight AND trying to keep crutches out of the way? And this is after going up stairs, to the balcony? Not fun. Wearing a cast and using crutches made travel a pain, but doable. I hadn't been working here even a month when I broke my leg in a game of touch football. No more hearing it through the grapevine, if you'll pardon the joke. I was gonna see him strum that guitar and pick out the famous leads and I was gonna get it straight from the man. I was excited, I was gonna see THE VOICE live. Cloud, friend Mick Hatten invited me to a John Fogerty concert. It's your freedom, it's your fun, you enjoy it to the hilt. But when you have your own wheels (ha!) and you've got tunes cranked, it doesn't matter how good the music is. Time and critics have been more kind to Creedence and The Beach Boys than to MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice, and that's OK. We could ride our bikes with the headphones on and listen to our music. Laugh all you want, but we were so excited. My brother got a live Beach Boys tape and a Vanilla Ice single. My tapes were "Chronicle," a greatest-hits CCR compilation, and an MC Hammer single.
